Tayside and Fife was bathed in sunshine for another day on Friday, as temperatures soared into the twenties.
It was the hottest day of the year so far, with parts of Aberdeenshire hotter than Malta. Temperatures in London and across the south east of England also edged into the twenties.
Forecasters were predicting a wild weekend ahead, however, with the Met Office predicting wind across Courier Country, with cloud and stormy rain across today and Sunday.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Today will be mainly cloudy with outbreaks of rain overnight with some hill snow; rain clearing east before dawn, as it turns colder with clear spells developing and showers in the west.
“Sunday will be a colder, fresher day with some blustery showers, wintry over high ground.
“Showers will be most frequent in the Trossachs, with the best of the brightness towards the Angus coast maximum temperature (will be) 10C.”
The cold snap brings to and end an Easter holiday week that has been one of the driest and most temperate on record, and one which has seen Dundee and Courier Country sizzling in high-teens heat and constant sunshine.
