Friends, family and soldiers gathered for the funeral of one of three servicemen recently killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
Corporal William Savage died with Fusilier Samuel Flint and Private Robert Hetherington when their armoured vehicle hit an improvised explosive device on a routine patrol in Nahr-e Saraj, Helmand province, on April 30.
His wife Lyndsey, who is pregnant with their first child, has said she was “extremely proud” of her husband.
Hundreds of mourners gathered for the funeral at Glencorse Kirk in Penicuik, Midlothian, near the regiment’s home of Glencorse Barracks.
