Community groups will be able to bid for a share of £10.3 million to help reduce carbon emissions.
The new money is part of plan to build on the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund.
Environment Minister Paul Wheelhouse will formally announce the extra funds during a visit to Acheson House Community Garden on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
Since 2008, £52 million has been shared among 612 projects in more than 400 communities across the country.
Projects already funded include those relating to energy efficiency, community growing spaces and schemes to help people move away from their cars toward lower-carbon alternatives.
The additional £10.3 million will be available in 2015-16.
