A road notorious for landslips has been forced to close because of another similar incident.
The A83 in Argyll is closed in both directions, at the A815 and B828, with 100 tonnes of rubble following heavy rain, a spokesman for roads management firm Bear Scotland said.
The landslip at the Rest and Be Thankful was logged on information website Traffic Scotland shortly after 7am.
“All lanes closed in both directions. Motorists are advised to use the available diversion route and should allow extra time for their journey,” a statement on the site said.
“Clear-up operation will continue throughout the day. No time-scale is available for the carriageway to reopen.”
Transport Scotland says landslides have closed the road five times since December 2011.
