Around 3,000 drivers have been reported or warned by police during a week-long crackdown on speeding.
Among the offences recorded was a vehicle travelling on the A90 at 104mph and a car being driven at almost double the speed limit in Perth.
During the campaign from March 7 to 14, officers conducting speed checks detected 2,081 instances of speeding.
Of that number, 1,046 were offered advice and warned while the remainder were either reported to the procurator fiscal or issued with a conditional offer of a fixed penalty.
In addition to this, the country’s safety camera units detected 897 drivers travelling over the speed limit.
Overall, 21 people were reported for dangerous driving while there were 47 reports and 96 warnings issued for careless driving.
Chief Superintendent Andy Edmonston, head of road policing, said: “Hopefully those people we have warned and those who have been reported will take the time to reflect on how they were driving and change their behaviour at the wheel as a moment of carelessness can have a devastating impact on a number of lives.
“This campaign was about reinforcing the need to drive at an appropriate speed for the conditions and reducing the risk of harm for vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders and motorcyclists, who accounted for almost half of the 200 people killed on our roads in 2014.”
