Musicians from around the world will be in Glasgow over the next 18 days for the Celtic Connections festival.
The festival in Glasgow is celebrating its 21st year and will feature everything from folk, roots and world to indie, blues and jazz.
The event got under way with a concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Thursday night at which award-winning violinist Nicola Benedetti performed with Julie Fowlis, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham.
Glasgow’s new SSE Hydro venue will host two shows, including Del Amitri, playing their first UK show since 2002.
It will also be the setting for the Celtic Connections International Burns Night on January 25, with a line-up including Capercaillie, Rachel Sermanni and Dougie MacLean.
