Bomb disposal experts were called after a suspicious package was found inside an Edinburgh bar.
The building on The Shore in Leith was evacuated and a cordon put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident at around 8.30pm on Monday.
Police Scotland said the Explosive Ordinance Disposal team attended and safely disposed of the package.
The force has launched an investigation.
A spokesman said: “Inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing and anyone with information that can assist officers with their investigations are asked to come forward immediately.”
No details about the contents of the suspicious package have been released.
