The electoral map of Tayside and Fife has been painted SNP yellow after an incredible night of results for the Nationalists.
Every local constituency went to Nicola Sturgeon’s party, as the SNP went on to claim all but three of the seats available in the whole of Scotland.
Declaration after declaration brought more joy for Ms Sturgeon’s party, but few will have been sweeter than Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath.
A Labour heartland, it was regarded as Labour’s safest seat in Scotland with candidate Kenny Selbie tipped to succeed former prime minister Gordon Brown.
However, the SNP’s Roger Mullin claimed a historic win with a majority of nearly 10,000.
