Ivan Macdonald, 33, died from his injuries following a collision with a car on the A865 Clachan to Carinish Road in North Uist. The accident, involving a black Renault Clio, happened at around 1.45am on Sunday, near Carinish village hall. Mr Macdonald, from Baleshare, North Uist, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene of the crash. The road was closed until the afternoon while police carried out their investigations. Police Scotland officers are appealing for anyone with information about the collision to contact them on 101.
