An elderly woman has died after her mobility scooter collided with a car.
Martha Tait, 71, from Falkirk, sustained serious injuries in the crash with a BMW on Union Road, Camelon, around 3.05pm on Tuesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 66-year-old woman driving the BMW 3-series was also injured.
Police are investigating the full circumstances surrounding the accident and have appealed for witnesses.
Sergeant Alistair MacLean of the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Stirling said: “Sadly this incident resulted in the elderly woman sustaining serious injuries that she succumbed to despite the best efforts of the ambulance staff in attendance.
“We are now appealing for members of the public who witnessed what happened to contact Police Scotland immediately.
“In particular, we are keen to establish Martha’s movements on her mobility scooter in the moments leading up to the collision.
“Similarly, anyone with any further information relevant to this ongoing investigation should also get in touch.”
