A man has been rescued by firefighters after a kitchen fire in a flat in Falkirk.
The fire service was alerted by a report of a smoke alarm sounding from the upper flat of a two-storey building on Millburn Street at 2.20am.
While the small fire was extinguished before crews from Falkirk and Larbert arrived at the scene, a man was rescued from the property by firefighters and 10 people were evacuated from neighbouring properties as a precaution.
The man, who was suffering from smoke inhalation, was given oxygen at the scene but did not go to hospital.
Meanwhile, two fire crews were called to a blaze in a tearoom in Fochabers at 4.50am.
Four people from the property above Laura’s Tearoom on the High Street of the town were evacuated as a precaution.
