House plans by one of Scotland’s foremost designers will be put up for auction alongside items from Fife.
The Charles Rennie Mackintosh drawings are expected to fetch up to £20,000 when they go under the hammer at Bonhams’ annual Scottish sale on April 16.
The unsigned plans are for Auchinibert House, which was designed for the Glasgow businessman Francis James Shand. The plans were drawn up in 1905 and construction was mostly finished by 1908.
A duplicate set of the plans, which were approved in June 1906 is held in the County of Stirlingshire archives. The set for sale were used as working drawings with annotations by Mackintosh.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Mackintosh Appeal, which is raising money to restore the Mackintosh building at Glasgow School of Art.
The Mackintosh-designed building was severely damaged by fire in May 2014.
The blaze, which started in the basement, destroyed the renowned Mackintosh library.
Alongside the plans, 10 items of Wemyss Ware will go under the hammer.
Made in the Fife pottery, they are expected to go for more than £5,000 in total.
They include a tea set bearing the company’s distinctive cabbage rose artwork and one of their iconic pig ornaments.
