Police are hunting two men who spat and shouted abuse at a young woman in Edinburgh.
The attack happened at Edinburgh Park station at about 7.20pm on Thursday January 7.
The men, believed to be aged between 17 and 25, followed the 19-year-old as she got off the 6.29pm Dunblane to Edinburgh Waverley train.
Both men made indecent comments towards her, with one of the men spitting on her as she made her way out of the station.
The victim was left extremely upset and British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
One of the men has been described as thin, about 5ft 8ins, wearing a grey hooded top, grey jogging bottoms and he had a black scarf over his face.
The other man is described as being thin and about the same height. He was also wearing a hooded top and had a scarf over his face.
Detective Constable Paul Farquhar, the BTP officer in charge of the enquiry, said: “The actions of the two men can only be described as being despicable.
“I am appealing for anyone who was at the station and has information which can assist BTP enquiries to come forward.
“I am particularly keen to speak with a man who noticed how upset the victim was and remained with her until the two other men had left the station.”
BTP can be contacted on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016. Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
