Road casualties have dropped to their lowest recorded level.
Deaths, injuries and child casualties all decreased last year, according to Scottish Government statistics.
Although fewer motorists and motorcyclists died, more pedestrians and cyclists were killed.
Transport Minister Keith Brown welcomed the overall 2% drop in casualties and 8% drop in deaths since 2011.
Overall casualties dropped by 202 to 12,575, the figures published by Government agency Transport Scotland showed.
Of those, deaths fell by 15 to 170, serious injuries increased by 82 to 1,959, slight injuries fell by 269 to 10,446 and child casualties reduced by 155 to 1,161 including two deaths.
Total casualties decreased among motorists and pedestrians.
Pedestrian deaths increased by 11 to 54, cyclist deaths increased by two to nine, motorist deaths fell by 17 to 72 and motorcyclist deaths fell by 12 to 21.
