Dramatic footage has emerged of an osprey chick plunging from its nest after a buzzard attack in Aberdeenshire.
The osprey chick one of two hatched earlier this year suffered flesh wounds after falling to the ground before being rescued by estate staff at Lochter outdoor activity centre in Oldmeldrum.
Conservation fears have now been raised about buzzard numbers after a chick was dropped to its death in a buzzard attack at the same nest in June 2012.
Lochter Estate owner Euan Webster said the latest footage was clear evidence last year’s buzzard attack was far from being an isolated incident.
