Courier country communities could experience one of the coldest nights since UK records began.
Forecasters predicted temperatures could drop as low as -15C overnight in some areas on Sunday night, with Highland Perthshire one of the worst affected areas.
The Met Office is warning that the icy cold will not let up for the next few days.
Motorists are urged to take extra care on all routes for the Monday morning commute.
