The death of a man whose body was found in a hospital car park is being treated as murder.
The 43-year-old’s body was discovered in bushes within the grounds of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, just off Old Dalkeith Road, at about 2.45pm on Sunday April 7.
Police are returning to the hospital exactly a week from the last known sighting of the victim, a Polish man, who was found with significant injuries.
He was last captured on CCTV getting off a number 33 bus with four other men near the hospital’s A&E department at about 10pm on Friday April 5.
Police will revisit the area between 9 and 11pm to try to trace more witnesses who might have seen the group.
Detective Chief Inspector David McLaren said: “We hope by returning to the hospital tonight we might catch people working shifts as they head to and from work who might be able to provide information about the group of men after they got off the bus.
“We have had a lot of support from the public so far, and we are grateful to everyone who has come forward with information already. But we would ask anyone who might not have spoken to police yet to get in touch on 101 as a matter of urgency.”
