Two men have robbed a woman of at least £10,000 in a Falkirk car park in what police say was a planned attack.
The robbery happened in a small car park near the junction of Hope Street and Newmarket Street at about 10.25am on Thursday.
The woman was not hurt but was left “extremely distressed” by the ordeal.
Both men were wearing dark clothing and they got away with a five-figure sum of money, police said.
Detective Inspector Kevin Carr, from Police Scotland’s Forth Valley division, said: “The woman was not injured but is extremely distressed by what has happened. I am appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.
“I am also keen to hear from anybody who may have seen any suspicious activity prior to the robbery or who may have seen a silver estate car, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra, being driven at speed.
“I’d like to reassure the public that this is isolated incident and believed to have been pre-planned.”
Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
