The death of a man found in his home last month is being treated as suspicious.
The body of Brian Bathgate was discovered by officers at Barney Mains Farm near Haddington, Edinburgh on March 15. Forensic tests suggest the man’s death is suspicious, police said.
Mr Bathgate, 45, was last seen returning to his home in the early hours of Wednesday March 13 and police believe he died a short time later.
Detective Chief Inspector Keith Hardie said: “Inquiries that have taken place over the past month, including forensic analysis, have led us to believe that Brian’s death is suspicious.
“We are carrying out local inquiries in the Haddington area as part of efforts to gather more information that can help us determine the full circumstances of his death, and we are appealing to people who knew Brian or who can provide any information in relation to his death to come forward.”
