David O’Halloran search police want to speak to taxi passengers

Police searching for a missing student want to speak to passengers in a taxi spotted shortly before he was last seen.

David O’Halloran (18) went missing in January after a night out with friends in Stirling.

The last sighting of him is on CCTV footage which shows him crossing Henderson Street in nearby Bridge of Allan at around 2.20am on Friday January 18.

Central Scotland Police have now traced a taxi seen heading through the town minutes earlier and are keen to speak to its passengers.

Chief Inspector Russell Penman said: “The passengers of this vehicle were picked up at dusk and dropped off near to the gold club in Bridge of Allan. We are keen to speak to them as they may have seen him and provide a bit more information about him.

“There is no further information on David’s movements and we are keen to hear from anybody who may have seen him around 2.19am on Henderson Street in Bridge of Allan on Friday January 18.”

Mr O’Halloran, a maths student, had gone out drinking with friends after work. He left a nightclub at about 1am in a taxi but got out of the vehicle before returning to his accommodation at Stirling University.

He was spotted by drivers near the university but the final sighting of him is in Bridge of Allan.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
