Police are treating the death of a man whose body was found in a hospital car park as suspicious.
The discovery was made in bushes within the grounds of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, just off Old Dalkeith Road, at about 2.45pm on Sunday.
The man has not yet been identified.
His death was initially treated as unexplained but a spokeswoman for Police Scotland said today that detectives now believe it is suspicious.
“Officers are working to establish the man’s identity, and would appeal for anyone with any information to come forward,” she said.
“The car park has been closed off for the moment to allow inquiries to take place at the scene.
“Police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact Police Scotland on 101, or the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Meanwhile, a man is due to appear in court in connection with the death of another man, aged 27, in the city’s Lochend Butterfly Way in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 23-year-old is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
