Donald Trump launches Twitter tirade against You’ve Been Trumped director ahead of BBC2 screening

US tycoon Donald Trump has launched a furious online attack on an Angus film-maker whose award-winning documentary criticised his Scottish golf course development.

You’ve Been Trumped, which is being screened on BBC2 on Sunday, explores the environmental and social impact of the Trump International Golf Links development at Menie in Aberdeenshire.

Made by Anthony Baxter, it is critical of how Menie residents were treated during construction of the course.

However, Mr Trump took to Twitter to attack Mr Baxter.

He posted: ”(Mr Baxter’s) documentary on my Scottish golf club was so boring and wrong. He is a small-timer with no talent.”

Later, when asked by Mr Baxter if he had seen the film, he replied: ”Your documentary died many deaths. You have, in my opinion, zero talent.

”Thanks for helping promote & make Trump International Golf Links Scotland so successful you stupid fool!”

The businessman then added: “All the morons that cause the controversy in Scotland have made my development far more successful than anticipated.”
