Picture today at Jehovahs Witness Convention, McDiarmid Park, Perth shows Baptism taking place in the giant pool during the torrential rain Thousands of people attended the annual Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention at McDiarmid Park in Perth at the weekend. The three-day event took place at the home of St Johnstone and is estimated to bring in around £1 million to the local economy. Despite the summer rain around 8000 witnesses turned up each day, with a total of 43 baptisms taking place in a large pool at the stadium on Saturday. There were around 42 Jehovah’s Witnesses conventions held throughout the UK and Channel Islands. A spokesman said, “Jehovah’s Witnesses have enjoyed a 19th successful convention in Perth. The peak attendance was 8202 on Sunday afternoon. “Numerous individuals attended as a result of the printed invitations distributed all over Scotland before the event.”
