Schoolchildren are being given the chance to design Christmas stamps this year, the Royal Mail has announced.
Youngsters aged between four and 11 are being invited to create artwork for two of the popular festive stamps.
The theme of the stamps, which have to be approved by the Queen, is “What does the Christmas season mean to you?”.
The winning designs will appear on one of the first and one of the second class Christmas stamps.
Stephen Agar, managing director of consumer and network access with the Royal Mail, said: Previous designs have become iconic images and it will be a fantastic honour and a prize that money cannot buy.”
The winners of the competition will be announced in the autumn and the stamps will go on sale in November.
