Raffaele Sollecito declares his innocence of Meredith Kercher murder
ByThe Courier Reporter
Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have both been accused of the murder of 21-year-old British student, Meredith Kercher, in November 2007.
The former boyfriend of Amanda Knox has repeated his declaration of innocence as he prepares to face a retrial over the murder of British student Meredith Kercher.
Raffaele Sollecito, 29, denies any involvement in the killing of Ms Kercher, who was found with her throat slashed in the bedroom of the house in Perugia she shared with Knox in November 2007.
Sollecito also defended himself against claims he and Knox had made money out of the tragedy. He said he wanted Italian prosecutors to read his book to find out the facts about the case.
Italy’s highest criminal court, the Court of Cassation, ruled in March that an appeals court in Florence must rehear the case against Knox and Sollecito for the murder of 21-year-old Miss Kercher, from Coulsdon, Surrey.
