Fewer IT jobs advertised but recruitment ‘set to rise’

The number of technology jobs advertised across the UK fell by 6% in the quarter to June but a return to “solid growth” is expected for the rest of the year, according to a new report.
Firms may have held back from making recruitment decisions in the run-up to the general election, said resources company Experis.
There were around 55,000 advertised IT jobs in the latest quarter, with the biggest demand in London, Manchester and Leeds.
Geoff Smith, managing director of Experis Europe, said recruitment had improved just after the election, suggesting increased business confidence in the Government’s digital agenda.
