Disgraced broadcaster Stuart Hall, pictured, is facing police questioning over new allegations of rape.
Lancashire Police has received further allegations about Hall, who was jailed for 15 months in June after admitting 14 counts of indecent assault against girls as young as nine.
It has been reported that a woman has alleged the broadcaster raped her regularly over several years when she was a teenager.
A police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that we have received further allegations and we are currently working with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to determine the most appropriate course of action.”
Hall admitted indecently assaulting girls aged between nine and 17 over a period of almost 20 years after initially denying the allegations.
A rape charge which Hall denied was left on file after it was given consideration at “the most senior level” of the CPS and the alleged victim was also consulted, and agreed.
The sentence of the former It’s A Knockout presenter has been doubled at the Court of Appeal after the initial jail term was criticised as “unduly lenient”.
When Hall’s sentence was increased to 30 months, judges criticised his public denials of his victims’ claims when he knew he was guilty.
Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge said the court regarded his original denials describing the claims against him as “cruel, pernicious and spurious” in a statement made from the steps of a court as a “seriously aggravating” feature in the case.
