A pregnant Briton has died at an airport in Spain as she prepared to board a flight home after a family celebration.
The 21-year-old woman died on Tuesday afternoon at Girona airport in the north east of the country, east of Barcelona. She was three-to-four months pregnant at the time.
The woman, who has not been named, was returning to Birmingham following a holiday to mark her grandmother’s 70th birthday.
Reports in Spain said the woman died after feeling sick and collapsing in an elevator at the airport.
She was with relatives, including her sister, who helped her while emergency services were called.
