A man has been arrested following reports he was shooting at cats with a pistol.
Armed officers from Wiltshire Police were called to Berryfield Park in Melksham in Wiltshire at 7.30am today.
They enforced a cordon around a block of flats and arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm.
A number of imitation firearms were also seized by police from an address nearby.
The man remains in police custody in Melksham.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “At no time were any members of the public threatened and thanks to information received from the public officers were able to respond quickly to resolve the situation.
