Shannen Doherty has joined the cast of the Beverly Hills: 90210 reboot.
The actress announced the news on Instagram, sharing a throwback picture of her fellow cast members from the show’s 1990s heyday.
Doherty captioned the post: “Yes it’s official. The real question is…. will we still be rocking those outfits. #bh90210.”
The six-episode series, with the official title BH90210, will also star Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling.
According to Fox, the network airing the show, each actor is playing “heightened versions of themselves”, in a story arc that will see the cast attempting to put together a reboot of the beloved teen drama.
Doherty, 48, played Brenda Walsh in 90210, appearing for four years between 1990 and 1994.
She reprised the role for several episodes of a sequel in 2008. Doherty is also known for appearing in fantasy drama Charmed as well as film roles in Kevin Smith’s Mallrats and Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back.
When BH90210 was announced, Doherty and Luke Perry were the only core members of the original series not set to star.
Perry, who most recently appeared in TV drama Riverdale, died in March at the age of 52 following a stroke.
His former 90210 co-stars were among those to pay tribute.
