A man and a woman have been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on Friarton Bridge at Perth this morning.
The collision, involving an articulated lorry, a white Transit van and a silver Toyota Auris, happened at around 7.40am and led to the closure of the northbound carriageway. The southbound carriageway was also closed for a time while emergency services attended to those involved in the collision.
A 51-year-old woman woman was freed from the Toyota having suffered injuries to her head and back and a 32-year-old man with leg injuries was released from the van. Both were taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital.
The driver of the lorry was not injured.
The accident caused major traffic delays. Restrictions remained in place while the damaged vehicles were recovered and for checks that there was no damage to the bridge.
