A renowned freelance journalist, who spent his later years in Auchterarder, has died aged 101.
Mr Glen, who grew up in Dunbartonshire, broke into the world of writing during the second world war and contributed to a number of regional and national titles.
A lifelong member of the Institute of Journalists, he could turn his hand to anything from court stories to football signings.
Mr Glen’s mother died in a tragic accident when he was just three years old, so he was brought up by his grandmother at Sandbank, Bonhill, where he attended Jamestown Primary School and later Vale of Leven Academy.
His breakthrough into journalism came in 1943 when he took over from the late James Russell, the accredited freelance news correspondent in Vale of Leven and Loch Lomondside.
Mr Glen founded Scottish Colorfoto Laboratories in 1967 and built a factory in Alexandria, which at its peak employed 250 people, developing and printing films for the High Street branches of Boots the Chemist.
Following his retirement, he moved to Perthshire where he was a familiar figure in the town of Auchterarder, where he was still driving at the age of 99.
He was also still writing right up to the time of his death and was coming to terms with cutting edge technology.
Mr Glen was predeceased by his wife Meg, but is survived by his son Noel, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
