Retired architect Bill McAra has died after a short illness.
Mr McAra, from Cupar, worked for Fife County Council and Fife Region as an architect from the 1960s through to his retirement in 1992.
He specialised in designing schools and these included Collydean, St Kenneth’s and Wormit primaries.
Towards the end of his career with Fife Region, he received a Civic Trust Award as project architect for the restoration of the 18th century East Lomond Limekiln.
Mr McAra was a member of Cupar Amateur Operatic Society and Cupar Choral Society for more than 30 years and sat on committees for both.
He also enjoyed quiz shows and made appearances on TV in Ask the Family and Fifteen to One.
He is survived by his wife Mary, sister Jean, children Kenneth and Lucy and his grandchildren Fiona and James.
