Mr Allan died at his home in Paphos earlier this month. He was manager of the North of Scotland Bank, later the Clydesdale Bank, in Gray Street, Broughty Ferry, between 1945 and 1965. He was president of Abertay Rotary Club in 1962-63, governor of Rotary District 101 in 1971-72, and also served as president of Broughty Curling Club. Mr Allan was an active member of Broughty Bowling Club for more than 30 years and was the club’s honorary president. He moved to Edinburgh in 1979. Mr Allan’s wife Connie died 18 years ago, and he had been living near his son, Hamish, in Cyprus. He is survived by Hamish, grandchildren Roddy and Kirsty and great-grandchildren Oliver and Henry.
