A Dundee woman who celebrated her 100th birthday with a party at a Broughty Ferry residential home in April has died.
May Smith, who was a resident at Ferry House nursing home, had previously lived in Ladywell Avenue.
Born in Scott Street, Mrs Smith attended Lawside Academy and lived for many years in Douglas.
Before retiring in the 1980s she worked as a cashier and book-keeper for a number of organisations, including the Co-op and the dining room in the former Angus Hotel.
She married Gilbert in 1944 and the couple had two sons, John and David. Mr Smith died in the early 1960s.
She celebrated her centenary milestone on April 7 with a visit from Lord Provost John Letford.
