Miss Philp was a deaconess at Leith, Dundee and Falkirk for many years before studying as a mature student. She worked for a time at Falkirk Old Parish Church and was a probationer at Bo’ness Old Kirk before she was ordained and inducted at Bervie in 1980. It was her only charge although, during her 14 years there, Bervie was linked with Benholm and Johnshaven and Arbuthnott with Kinneff.
