The president of Dundee Sikh Gurdwara, Mr Karam Singh Bhachu, has died peacefully, aged 82.
Mr Bhachu, who died on Friday, was the serving president of the Gurdwara on Nelson Street for the last six years and was a respected and much-loved member of the community.
He was one of the founding members of the Gurdwara a place of Sikh worship in the early 1970s and presided over a period of stability and growth to the benefit of Sikhs in Dundee, Fife, Perth and Aberdeen.
Chairman Manjit Singh Athwal said, “Mr Bhachu will be sadly missed by his family, the Sikh community and by the many friends he made over the years in Dundee.”
He is survived by his wife Mrs Rattan Kaur Bhachu and four sons, one daughter and 13 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10.15am on Saturday at Dundee crematorium.
