Bill Black, a former band leader from Stanley, has died just a week short of his 81st birthday.
Mr Black had been a partner in the farm supply business Bremner Black and Co, with shops in Aberfeldy and Oban, but was best known for his musical prowess playing both fiddle and chromatic accordion.
His music took him to all parts of the UK and all of the islands.
In the 1980s he played for the King and Queen of Denmark, followed by a trip to Lagos in Nigeria.
In 1999 he was honoured by the National Association of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs for his contribution to Scottish dance music.
In 2005 he was voted guest artist of the year and in 2009 he was inducted into the traditional music hall of fame.
Mr Black is survived by wife Anne, daughter Kate, sons Robert and Duncan and three grandchildren.
