Dr Edmund (Ted) Raffle, a former consultant dermatologist at Ninewells Hospital, has died at the age of 80.
In a distinguished career Dr Raffle served as both president and secretary of the Scottish Dermatological Society.
Born in Liverpool, he qualified in the city in 1953 and came to Dundee five years later as registrar in cardiology at the former royal infirmary.
He then went into general practice in Peterborough and Cheshire before moving to Newcastle to take up a post in dermatology.
Dr Raffle came to Dundee in 1966 and progressed to become senior registrar and then consultant in the speciality before retiring 20 years ago.
He was an elder at the East Church in Broughty Ferry, now known as the New Kirk, for 35 years and had a passion for organ music, through which he became a member of the Tayside Organists’ Society.
He also enjoyed gardening and was a member of Panmure Golf Club, Barry, and Broughty Ferry Bowling Club.
