Dundee fans looking forward to discussing their team’s fortunes over the festive period could be forgiven for thinking the Dark Blues are approaching a crossroads in their season.
At the start of the campaign, I’d suggest that most Dundee fans might have taken their current position in the Premiership table – if you told them that’s where they would be when the Christmas turkey is served up.
The main aim surely was not to struggle like they did in their last stint in the SPL, and Dundee have certainly not done that.
Sitting in seventh place and sitting with a bit of a cushion on the teams below them is not a bad place to be.
Having said that, the next few weeks could well define their season.
With three out of their next four games at home and a tasty Tayside derby thrown in there among that as well, it’s clear these festive fixtures could be pivotal in where Dundee finish up come May.
Win a few and a place in the top six might not be as far-fetched as it might have seemed before a ball was kicked this term.
