A forum for Parliamentary staff, not those who work for MSPs, has shown the quality of staplers and hole punches particularly rankle, with officials being urged not to “try to economise when buying staplers.”
One contributor said: “The plastic cheap and nasty staplers are just a waste of everybody’s time. We should buy good quality metal ones.
“Good quality ones last for years and hardly ever ‘foul up’ and would I am sure, be cheaper in the long run. My thoughts also apply to hole punches too.”
The action taken? Someone will contact the complainant “to remind about checking FM’s stationery store and to advise on the purchasing of better quality goods.” Good thing £82,703 wasn’t spent on office and “headed” stationary at Holyrood last year. Oh, wait
