Do you fancy a tipple this weekend?
If so BEWARE.
I don’t mean to rain on your parade. And for heaven’s sake don’t stop on my behalf. In fact it has even been known for those in Coming Up Corner to enjoy a small dry sherry on a Friday evening once the working week is done (sometimes but by no means always followed by a slight fuzzy feeling and, on occasion, a weekend in the cells).
No, no, no, we simply say beware.
And the reason for this perhaps uncharacteristic wariness (for I rather think Coming Up Corner is not somewhere you come to revel in any form of a reserved atmosphere) is this:
Booze contains lots of calories.
In itself, not a show-stopper BUT there are new moves afoot to add the number of calories to every single bottle or can.
Some people are distinctly uncomfortable about the proposal, perhaps believing ignorance in at least this circumstance is bliss.
Will it spoil your enjoyment of the odd tipple or ten? We find out more.
In other news is it the nightmare before Christmas for Dundee City Council?
We have more on desperate efforts to spruce up the City of Discovery’s Xmas tree.
Quite remarkable stuff.
You just can’t beat a nice cup of tea.
And the very finest tea comes, of course, not from China, India or Kenya but Perthshire.
And if that doesn’t have you spluttering on your PG Tips (other brands are available). Nothing will.
That’s right. We find out more about the top quality tea being produced not in far-flung countries but Amulree.
It’s worth thousands per kilo.
If you think that sounds fascinating, then let me tell you, you’ve got it down to a T.
