Can we be trusted to have a beer (or dry white wine, let’s not be presumptive) at the football?
Some people say “yes”.
Other people say “no”.
And it is that very stark divergence of opinion that makes it such a fascinating issue.
The Courier investigates with the help of chairmen from local football clubs.
Interestingly, some of them say “yes” and others say “no”.
Which goes to show my previous assertion was bang on the money. It also proves that it really is devilishly difficult to get any kind of consensus.
Meanwhile, I want to paint a picture for you.
But not with a brush or even ink.
No, I want to paint a picture for you with words.
I am well aware that a picture paints a thousand words, but what I hope to do is paint a picture in approximately 70 words.
And here goes:
A man is sitting at the breakfast table on a Saturday morning.
As he prepares for his day ahead, he turns on his computer. He checks his Euromillions lottery numbers on a website.
And what’s this? He’s only gone and won.
And not just a few quid either a million pounds (a cool million in obligatory newspaper terms).
Right-o, that’s me done with painting a picture. I do hope you like it.
Find out more about said picture in Saturday’s Courier (which, lest there be any doubt, carries the story of an unassuming local fellow who has scooped £1 million).
Elsewhere (though still in The Courier) we have the incredible story of a man who is set to feed himself to a giant snake.
It’s going to devour him whole. He calls himself a “green Indiana Jones”. Others refer to him in less glowing terms…
There is a fair bit of anger, but in the end one can only hope they will all hiss and make up (sorry).
Make up your own mind regarding his madcap antics on perusing your super weekend Courier.
Saturday is set to be a sensational day. I’ll warrant it will be improved by a factor of six (at least) if you spend it (or at least a reasonable portion of it) in the company of The Courier. If you won’t take my hint and snap up print, why not try our digital edition? It’s a question I have asked in excess of several hundred times and it’s still never been answered. Feel free to have a pop. Thanks.
