Coming up in Wednesday’s Courier art and fitba

What a car-tastrophe.

We have much more on the angry dad who very publicly shamed his son after a car crash.

It has left the lad involved somewhat shamefaced but he can perhaps comfort himself with the knowledge his shenanigans have provided the good = people of Courier Country (that’s you and I) with a rollicking good story.

It’s the perfect tale in many ways, combining something of a lol with a serious message. Well done, dad.

I suspect (and please do correct me if I am wrong) most people know that Beatrix Potter is an author of fine children’s books. But did you know she was a fine artist? With a particular interest in painting fungi? Well you know now (assuming you believe me). We have more details of a new exhibition featuring some rare watercolours (by Ms Potter, for the avoidance of doubt) in Wednesday’s high brow and distinctly artistic Courier.

You simply cannot have failed to notice that the Scottish cup final is just around the corner. You can’t. I just don’t believe it’s possible.

In Wednesday’s Courier we have much more build-up as excitement exceeds fever pitch. People really can’t wait. We have the lowdown of some of the fanatics descending on Glasgow from every corner of the globe (I’m well aware the globe is round and doesn’t have corners. Nor are they physically descending. It’s an old journalistic cliche. I apologise for the use of a cliche but this is football we are talking about. At the end of the day).

Cilla Black wants to die (relatively) soon.

But when do you think it would be a good time to drop off the mortal coil?

We investigate this somewhat morbid, but nonetheless intriguing, issue.

Do you whack your kids?

Well you shouldn’t. Or maybe you should. I can’t decide. We have all the latest on the thorny old smacking debate.

In sport, it was Scottish Cup final press days for both St Johnstone and Dundee United.

Our writers have been to Perth and St Andrews to get the latest thoughts of players from both sides. They are wildly excited (the players. But our writers as well, come to think of it).

Courier columnist Christian Dailly gives his prediction, and analyses the key battlegrounds at Celtic Park. Jolly decent of him.

For more on every one of these frankly terrific tales please be most certain to pick up your copy of Wednesday’s Courier. If you find yourself seeking out an alternative, I have no reservations whatsoever in offering up our digital edition.
