However, it WAS ladies day at Perth Races on Thursday. And what a day.
The form off the course was every bit as scintillating as that on it as Courier Country’s female population dressed to impress.

As with news, in sport we are also getting rather excited about a certain weekend football match (the Scottish cup final between St Johnstone and Dundee United just in case you were wondering. It’s on Saturday).
They used to crown kings at Scone Palace and Tommy Wright will be Perth royalty if he guides St Johnstone to Scottish Cup glory.
The Courier’s Neil Robertson travelled through to the palace for Wright’s pre-match press conference, while Jackie McNamara was on familiar ground at St Andrews.
Eve Muirhead, as aforementioned, is backing Saints for the cup and in her weekly column she gives her advice on how best to approach a big match. She should know.
The working week comes to an end on Friday, but that is not the only thing which makes it if not the best day of the week, then certainly comfortably within the top seven.
