Not infrequently, a kind-hearted woman will approach, offering to put us up under her roof. Sometimes for more than an hour.
So we can absolutely relate to the amazing tale told by a pensioner who faced a bleak evening in the City of Discovery when his accommodation fell through, until his “guardian angel” stepped in to help.
She said the sprightly, kilted, charity-walking gent is “worth a million pounds”.
