Please don’t go. You see it’s like this: I really, really like you.
So said David Cameron. Or certainly something like that.
Our man Kieran Andrews hot-footed it (he didn’t, he took the car a journey that did not result in his feet reaching anything other than entirely normal, indeed optimal, temperatures) to Perth to listen to the man himself. He (Cameron, not Andrews) was talking about Scotland and insisted he doesn’t want independence. I admit that’s not much of a scoop…but there’s more to it than that. You can read all about it in Friday’s Courier.
You may not have noticed what with all the excitement over the World Cup and Muzza’s very disappointing performance at Wimbers, but the Commonwealth Games are almost upon us.
The main extravaganza may be centred on Glasgow but Tayside is getting in on the action thanks to the shooting events being staged at Barry Buddon. We were invited to take a look at the range ahead of the competition getting underway (the starting gun being fired if you will). It was the kind of offer we would have been quite, quite wrong to turn down, So we didn’t. We went along and had a jolly interesting time. Take aim at your local newsagent (metaphorically please) on Friday to get the full story.
Meanwhile, thousands of people had a really lovely day out at Perth Races on Thursday. If you were there or you just like gazing at pictures of happy people you will absolutely adore our working week ending edition.
We also have news of a football manager (a Dundee FC legend no less) who has scored a hole in one on the golf course. FOR THE NINTH TIME. Sorry to shout, but it is a remarkable statistic. Great stuff.
And…
Picture the scene:
You have just rescued a woman and her tiny baby from a car crash. You’re a hero. Except you don’t think so. You just think you are an average bloke.
If that were the case, it would perhaps be quite nice if your local newspaper reinforced just how terrific your actions were.
The perceptive among you may have twigged that there is a story very much along those lines in Friday’s Courier. Nice.
For all of these stories and so much more to intrigue, entertain, delight, surprise and even shock, be sure to pick up your copy of the paper. Failing that, why not kick back, log on and enjoy our wonderful t’interweb edition.
