Earlier this year, Gary Robinson was happy. So happy in fact, that he shared it with Dundee, then the world.
The radio presenter was the driving force behind the Happy Dundee video which became a fungal hit all over the interweb.
But now, he’s not happy. Not happy at all.
Gary was gaily skipping along his beloved city’s Perth Road when he wasbrutally attacked by the local wildlife seagulls to be exact. Enough to turn anyone’s smile upside down.
So he’s not been smiling at all recently, what with his face being mashed up after he fled the winged terrors, tripped and forgot to break his fall with his hands.
Face to tarmac interface was inevitable, painful and telling.
We’ve got much more on the Tayside seagull menace in Thursday’s Courier (and there’s still time to vote on our online poll about culling them here).
Also in Thursday’s Courier we have dramatic pictures from Perth where a “chemical incident” saw a full turn-out of the emergency services including firefighters in full chemical suits.
More dramatic than that are our shots from the sky of the post-party T in the Park site where a “ghost village” of discarded tents was abandoned by weary revellers.
Amid tales of norovirus and missing Cameroonian wrestlers, the Commonwealth games athletes’ village was thrown open to the media. Our man was there, hopefully with his hand gel and wipes.
And in late breaking news from Dundee, someone has stolen a whole flatpack kitchen. Seriously.
For more on all these stories (especially the flatpack kitchen one) and many more besides, see Thursday’s Courier or try our digital edition.
