Sandy Hall, 58, said his family had been left mystified by the image alongside 18-month-old great-granddaughter Mya Pitcairn. “To be honest I don’t know what it is,” he said. “It’s definitely a person but it doesn’t look anything like my great-granddaughter. “It looks like a christening gown that the girl is wearing.” Now I don’t want to rush to judgement, I prefer to keep an open mind. However Occam’s razor is the principle that states the simplest solution to any scientific problem is probably the right one. As a rule of thumb it’s quite a good one, and it can be applied to phenomena such as this spooky picture. Is this likely to be a visitation from the next world, or bit of distorted light in the lens? Is this more likely to be proof of life after death, or a double exposure? Is this an apparition from another dimension, or a glitch? I would advise that the simplest explanation is normally the correct one.
