Dundee has emerged as one bookies’ favourite to return the highest percentage of Yes votes.
Paddy Power said five of the top six local authority areas in Scotland likely to have the highest support for independence are in Courier Country.
Dundee is favourite at 7/2 to have the highest percentage of Yes voters, with Angus in second place at 9/2 and Clackmannanshire third at 6/1.
Perth and Kinross’s odds are 7/1, with Falkirk at 8/1. Stirling and Fife are the only Courier Country areas not in the top six at 16/1 and 20/1 respectively.
Yes Dundee spokesman Councillor Jimmy Black said: “Our canvassing returns are really positive and hopefully we will get a great vote out of Dundee. It may even be that Dundee is the city that will swing it for Scotland.”
The bookmaker has cut the odds on a Yes vote from 4/1 down to 7/2 following Alex Salmond’s strong performance in Monday’s debate with Alistair Darling.
